FAQ’s Part One

FAQ’s Part One

We’re always encouraging our clients to ask questions. After all, designing and building a dream home is one of the biggest investments you’ll ever make. And the best way to ensure you make the most informed decisions is by arming yourself with knowledge of your builder, their processes and procedures.

In the first of this two-part blog, we take a look at some of our clients’ most frequently asked questions. We encourage you to have a read and learn more about building with Wincrest.

Q: Do you build in my neighbourhood?
A: Not all builders build in all council areas. At Wincrest, we build in every council area throughout Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle and the Hunter.

Q: How long do you typically take to build a house?
A: Our contract build time for a single storey home is 29 weeks and a double storey, 24. This, however, does not include approval time. When it comes to approvals, choosing a CDC – or Complying Development Certificate – over a DA can significantly decrease approval times meaning you could be in your home within 12 months. Depending on your council area and type of house you are building, this timeframe can be much longer with a DA approval.

Q: Can I change the design to better suit my family, land and lifestyle?
A: Like the bottom of one home, and the top of another? No problem. Wincrest’s famous design customisation service means you have the flexibility to make changes to any of our existing home designs. Whatever it is you dream of, our specialist team will work with you to modify the home so that it stays within your budget and becomes the perfect match for your family.

Q: Our land is sloping. Is that a problem?
A: We see sloping blocks as an opportunity to build a perfect family home, one that works with the slope, not against it.  As the original sloping block specialists, we have been building homes on sloping blocks for over 30 years and can even design homes for sloping blocks with a fall up to seven metres. Together, we will design a cost-effective home that complements the slope of your land, taking advantage of views, cross breezes and the natural light.

Q: Can you build from DA approved plans?
A: Your home doesn’t have to be designed by us to be built by us.  This means we welcome your own designs (or architecturally drawn plans) after they have been DA approved. We accurately review the plans for buildability can build your home to match the vision, standard and budget you and your designer / architect intended.
